Review of Freakslaw by Jane Flett

I was so excited to get my hands on an early copy of Freakslaw by Jane Flett, and if you’re wondering if the cover of the book echoes what you’ll find amongst the pages, the answer is ABSOLUTELY! If you’re a fan of books that evoke terror, fascination and suspense then this is the one for you! Freakslaw is a literary horror novel (weird girl book in the best way!) set against the backdrop of a carnival and the characters who inhabit it.

Amongst the distaste of the townspeople, Pitlaw teens, Derek and Ruth, find themselves drawn to the carnival and its charm and freedom. I found their POVs super interesting, especially as they searched for their own sense of identity and understanding. Fans of literary horror and the vividness of American Horror Story, this book is for YOU! Will you join the Freakslaw?!

Review by Danielle.

Freakslaw was published on 20/06/24 by Doubleday.
