Review of The Many Ghosts of Donahue Byrnes by Laura McLoughlin

If you’re looking for a brilliantly written and utterly captivating read for the Halloween season, you will not go wrong with picking up a copy of The Many Ghosts of Donahue Byrnes. The book follows Mia Anne Moran, a young waitress who becomes concierge of the dead after the owner of the Ballinadrum Hotel dies (and if she keeps the ghosts in line, the heir to the hotel will sell the business as a whole). Drawn into the lives, or afterlives(!), of the ghostly patrons of the hotel, Mia is dragged into a mystery that only she can help solve.

The Many Ghosts of Donahue Byrnes is a fun and clever debut, with characters that are well developed and different in their own way, in a perfectly eerie and brilliantly atmospheric setting! Bravo, Laura!
